So here is a little story about me when I was baking peanut butter kiss cookies today:
I decided to do this recipe because it only had three ingredients: Sugar, eggs and peanut butter.
I made a much more difficult recipe earlier (okay, it wasn't too hard but harder than these peanut butter cookies!) and so I thought it would be nice to make another quick, easy batch of cookies (I say another because I made chocolate cookies before. Both recipes are coming soon!).
So I got out the ingredients and all of the measuring and mixing equipment and went to work. I managed to get through the sugar and the egg without any problems, but then came the dreaded peanut butter. Now, I don't really like peanut butter but I adore peanut butter cookies. So anyway, I filled up the measuring cup about half way and realized I had to open another jar of the evil brown stuff. So I got the jar and I was stirring the peanut butter around when I took the spoon out too fast and the jar tipped over and splattered peanut butter all over the left side of my body from the waist down.
Total. Grossness.
For some reason the peanut butter that we buy is a lot more liquid-y than others and so it was running down my leg and into my sock.
No, did not get a picture.
No you did not want to see it.
So I changed clothes and finished the cookies. I didn't put a full cup of the you-know-what in them though. I had had enough of it.

I made chocolate zucchini muffins and went to a sleep over!
And I'm giving you guys the recipe! You've got to try it!
Here's the recipe:
2 1/3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups unsweetened cocoa
2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 cups grated zucchini
3 eggs
1 cup oil
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 chocolate chips
Combine all dry ingredients...........
In a separate bowl mix together eggs, oil, vanilla and zucchini;
then add to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Stir in chocolate chips..........
Pour into 24 muffin cups..........
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes............
Let them cool for about 20 minutes.......................
And enjoy!!
And I just had to throw in this photo:
This recipe was unbelievably easy and amazingly delicious!
Kate and my two friends came over as the muffins came out of the oven and they loved them! Luke and Mark's friend liked them too until he found out there was zucchini in it ;)
Later Kate and my friend and I went over to my other friend's house and had a sleep over! It was so fun! We jumped on her trampoline until about 8:30 and then played "would you rather", a game that is sort of like truth or dare without the dare. It consists of embarrassing, funny, and random "would you rather" questions.
We stayed up until about 2:30 am and finally got to sleep when I put some relaxing music on my iPod, which almost drowned out the sound of my friend making raspberries on her arms :)
We got about 5 hours of sleep and in the morning we jumped on my friends trampoline and her mom made chocolate chip pancakes :d
It was all so fun, but at the moment I am so. Tired!
Until next time!

School
Hello blogg-y friends! Yes, I am still alive and well :) My pink eye is cured and we are getting ready to start school. Pretty much all of our friends started today and so basically summer is over. I mean, how is it summer if all your friends are in school?
Sorry for the lack in picture posts I still haven't uploaded them on to our computer :P
My mom has been putting our tapes of home videos on to DVDs. Every time we someone walks in the living room they stay for about a half hour longer than planned! You just can't tear yourself away from those things! I will post soon with photos!

The Lakehouse
The day before his birthday, Luke went with our neighbors up to their lakehouse. He stayed overnight and we came the next day. It was so awesome!!!
I went swimming in a lake for the first time and tubing for the first time. Swimming in the lake was cool but tubing was amazing. I'm a huge roller coaster fan and tubing is sort of like a flat roller coaster with an occasional big bump. It wasn't a windy day so the lake was pretty flat with only a few waves here and there. Photos are soon to come!
We had hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch and went back out on the lake. Kate wasn't sure if she wanted to tube at first but after our neighbors (ages 13 and 9) and us persuading her she changed into her bathing suit. All-in-all, it was a super fun day but when we got home we were all so tired and this morning I was practically asleep while eating breakfast :)
And yesterday it was my mom and dad's anniversary! Yes, the same day as Luke's birthday :)
Happy anniversary Mummy and Daddy! Love you!

Do you know Luke?
Luke is my brother. A very amazing, awesome, talented, athletic brother. From sports to, well, sports, he can do it all! Today he turned twelve, and though it might be annoying that he turns twelve before I turn thirteen, I'd still like to wish him a very happy birthday!
Love you Luke!

Messing around in Photoshop :)
Bonjour readers! Thanks so much for all of your "get well" notes! I really appreciate them :)
Well, I have spent two hours this morning trying to figure out how to make a blog background and I (of course) failed again :) so when I got tired of being confused and frustrated I decided to go into Photoshop and mess around with some scrapbooking kits!
The page above used to be a very light pink with darker pink polka dots! I wish I could show you it in its original colors but I didn't make a copy *frowns*.
These are part of the same kit as the first. I tried hard to get them to match :)

This used to be a nice blue-ish color and, honestly, I liked it better the first way :)
moving along................
I saved the best one for last! Don't you love it?! It used to be pink/orang/yellow, but I like it much better this way!Which kit is your favorite?

Things that pink eye stop you from doing:
1. Playing ultimate frisbee *growls*
2. Bake brownies
3. Looking up without feeling pressure on your eye
4. Enjoying things
haha quite amusing right? Well, sort of. Pink eye is not fun, especially the fact that I have to have eye drops three times a day (yes I said three) five days in a row :(((
Oh well, it could be much worse. I'm just thankful that I can see.

A new addiction!
I have a new favorite summer/fall/spring sport:
>>>ULTIMATE FRISBEE!!!!!!!<<< *screams*
Yes, dear readers, I am now in love with ultimate frisbee. Very in love. We have been playing frisbee instead of rundown (which was my favorite) and honestly, I haven't missed rundown at all. Now, if you've played rundown you'll know how amazingly awesome it is. Frisbee is that and then some. Here's how to play:
1. Get your siblings and a bunch of neighbors
2. Get a good frisbee
3. Explain the rules to your neighbors
4. Have fun!!!
Ultimate frisbee is sort of like football only there's no tackling and instead of a football there's a frisbee. There's a kickoff (or rather, in this case, a throw off.) and the receiving team tries to score a touchdown. If the receiving team drops the frisbee then the other team gets it. Also, whoever is holding the frisbee they can only take three steps towards their end-zone and then they have to pass it. Whoever is blocking the person with the frisbee has to stand at arms length (this rule is often broken but no one really cares).
Thats basically all there is to it. If I didn't make myself clear enough then just google "ultimate frisbee rules" and I'm sure it'll come up!
And one more thing (not concerning frisbee):
My left eye has been bothering me for a few weeks now, it being swollen and sometimes pink and sore, and I have to get it checked soon. We're pretty sure that it's not pink eye and I'm a bit concerned. So say a prayer and cross your fingers that its not some kind of infection. :(((
Until next time!

How do you like my header?
It took me a few times to get it right but I really like the finished product :) I did it in Photoshop! I love purple and I'm in a sort of fancy mood so I love the text and at the moment I adore butterflies so I found some way to squeeze them in too.
hehe let me know if you want me to make one for you!

Don't take your blessings for granted (help others)
So last night I was lying in my bed, just thinking and dreaming, like I do every night before I go to sleep, and I suddenly, randomly thought: I'm lying here in this comfortable bed with a nice soft pillow with a fan blowing on me and I take it all for granted. There are kids starving to death all over the world. There are kids who have to sleep on the ground every night in the blazing heat.
And I felt an overwhelming sense of emotion, knowing how blessed I was and wondering why God chose me to be this blessed.
So I started to daydream, or rather "night-dream" :) and I thought of what I could do to help. Just to help a little bit.
I thought of bake sales, lemonade stands, selling my photography and my jewelry.
Because every penny counts.
I was imagining every tiny detail of the sale and decided to myself: I am going to do this soon.
And I know I'll get support. My family will be behind me 100% and my friends will too I'm pretty sure.
Especially my two close friends. I have a friend who's mom has breast cancer so she'll be all for it and my other friend will definitely help.
I really have such great friends :)
So if you want to join me in this fundraising phase, here are some rules that I think are necessary
1. Keep your prices relatively low.
Usually if you sell lemonade for 25 cents people just throw an extra buck or two at you, but if you sell it for like, $1.50 they will either a) pay for it without tipping or b) drive right past you.
2. Make sure you're on a busy street.
Chances are that if your on a dead-end street you'll only make a couple sales :) Luckily I live on a good street and there's even a triangular island thing where three roads meet so I could even set up there.
3. Make sure your products/food is worth buying!
Don't sell bad stuff. No one wants sour lemonade or stale cookies or a bracelet that will break in an hour. Enough said.
4. Make your stand look pretty.
Umbrellas, signs and other brightly colored things will help with this. Also, make sure you have a big enough table. I once drove past two girls who put their lemonade and cups on the ground. Um, ew. :P
5. Make it clear that all the proceeds will be going to charity.
That way the customers will be more generous :)
6. Have fun!!
So get to it! And let me know how it turns out!

I'm BAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!
Yes blog world, I have returned! My vacation was amazing, relaxing and just generally fun.
At first being by myself was strange, but after the first day I was perfectly fine.
Did I cry when my family drove away? Almost.
Did I cry when I had to leave my aunt's? Almost.
Did I cry when I saw my family waiting for me in a parking lot? Did I cry when I saw Mark hanging out the window waving and then dancing around like a maniac when we pulled into the parking lot? Did I cry when they all came running towards me? Did I cry when they gave me a huge group hug?
Of course not. :)
I didn't snap too many photos at my aunt's but when I was at the mountains with my family I went crazy :)
Above is a picture of Pink Piggy. I've had her since I was a baby and of course she had to come ;)
When me and my grandma and my other great aunt were driving to meet my family we stopped at a bead store.
It. Was. So. Beautiful. In. There.
And then in the mountains:
"I'm the tin man!" |
For a week I read, wrote, drew, took photos, watched TV and enjoyed my peace and quiet. I said to my mom, "I could easily have stayed for another week." (Just because it was so relaxing, nothing against my family!)
I hope I get to do it next year!! And I got a very special gift from my aunt. I don't feel comfortable posting the gift here so if you would care to know, just shoot me an email!

We Miss Hannah!
Hi everyone,
This is Hannah's mom. Hannah is enjoying a week at my aunt's being spoiled and acting like an only child. I accidentally set a place for her at the table last night-boo-hoo! I visited the same aunt when I was in high school and loved the chance to retreat from my 4 brothers-no offense guys. I'm trying to remember all the funny things that happen while she's away. If anything notable DOES happen-maybe I'll post it here.
Hannah should be back next Sunday, though. I'm sure she'll have lots to tell.
