emily // senior portraits

I took my beautiful cousin's senior photos last month, and this has to be one of my favorite senior sessions yet. Let's start this post out with a bang:

We stumbled across this crazy/creepy mural in a not-so-nice part of the North Side, and I told Em to do her best "High School Musical" jump. She nailed it.

And let me rant for a second: whenever I upload my photos to blogger they seem to lose a little bit of vibrance/contrast and I have no idea why. It's annoying.

Anyway, happy Saturday!

12:41am

It's 12:41am and I'm thinking about success and failure.

It's 12:42am and I'm worrying about my high school career, and what comes afterwards.

It's 12:45am and I'm pondering different ways to make a living while still doing the things that I love.

It's 12:46am and I'm cursing myself for thinking about the future so much.

It's 12:50am and I'm remembering I have to wash my tennis uniform for my match tomorrow.

It's 12:51am and I'm trying to keep my eyes open.

It's 12:52am and I'm sick and tired of stress.

It's 12:53am and I'm still sick and tired of stress, but this photo helps a little.

darkness and light // self portraits

Just a little self-portraiture. I really wanted to test out some dramatic light, so naturally I waited until 2am with my hair a mess and eyelids half-shut after a full 12-hour work day. Kind of liking the results though :)

I've been trying to find new music lately. I've had Imagine Dragons and American Authors' albums on repeat, which is great but I want to venture into some new artists. Any suggestions?

mallory // senior portraits

This blonde bombshell is definitely one of my favorite people ever, so naturally I was pumped when she asked me to take her senior photos. You'll be seeing a lot more of Mal on the blog because she had the brilliant idea to spread out her senior sessions in different seasons. This is the summer set, and I'm so excited for fall!
