a&e || portraits

 So I babysat these cuties last night. I brought my camera along, just because I thought I might be able to get some shots. As it turned out, they were totally up for a mini photo shoot.
But lately, Amelia has gotten into photography herself, and she wanted to do a double photo shoot. Since her 'camera' was lost, I handed over my phone, which she handled with great care. Elizabeth was dubbed the model for the night, but I couldn't help snapping some of her older sister as well :)

phone calls, family, friends, and food.

After five days in the hospital, my grandad passed away. It happened last night around nine, and of course my mom and dad had to go right to the hospital. It was peaceful though, and he was with three of my uncles. It was the best way to go for him, surrounded by his family.
Around midnight my parents came home and I went to bed, just thinking about him and wishing I got to talk to him properly before he died. But today was way better. The phone has been ringing off the hook and friend and relatives have been popping in for visits.
And the food train has started. This morning I awoke, took a shower and headed downstairs to find this on the table:

Needless to say it was a satisfying breakfast.

Like I said, the mood this morning is much better. When something tragic happens in the family, I'm more of a "mourn and move-on" kind of person. Sure, it's sad, but I know he's in a better place. And I'm gonna try to be strong for my siblings too.

Art really has been a life-saver for me. My camera hasn't left my presence this whole morning. I'm snapping my sadness away ;)

good times

Right now, sitting here with my cousins, I'm having a pretty fun time. After a night of eating fudgesicles, goofing around in the driveway (aka riding scooters and taking photos while leaping through the air ;]), playing apples to apples and watching "Grease", I'll always remember this trip. This night.
The people surrounding me are people who I'll never get tired of being around. Considering we only see these cousins three or four times a year we're all just appreciating these times.
At the moment Peebles (my 10yo cousins nickname) is running around the room trying to squish a moth.
As for me, I'm sooo pooped out. Still having fun, just tired.

Well, this has been a random, chopped up post, and in my opinion pretty badly written, but my brain can't function that well at 12:07am. Till next time friends!

scenes from the mountains

I haven't been on blogger much these past few days, and the next week or two will be extremely busy, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around. I'll try to schedule some posts though :)
Anyway, I've thrown together a post with pictures that I took the last time we went up to our mountain house. Enjoy!

Love this photo, the flower was gorgeous. A bunch of different things were in bloom when we went up there last...

and all the berries, fruit and other edible deliciousness has started to come out!

okay, I have no idea whatsoever what that bug thing is in that photo ^^^ but it looks scary. If anyone can  identify it that'd be awesome :)

A whole bunch of raptors were flying above the house throughout the day.

We were so glad that the weather was decent–not too hot, not too cold–and it didn't rain. Around noon some relatives came up and we had a blast taking them gown to the brook, walking in the woods, and just generally enjoying nature ;)

I love summer ;)

Yesterday my two adorable cousins came over and stayed for a few hours. It was so fun playing with them!

I persuaded them to put some dresses on and allow me to take some photos ;)

A random post ^_^

Hello readers! Today I went over too my grandma's house with my two friends and all of my siblings (it was a half-day for my friends) and we took my cousins and my neighbor to the park down the street from my grandma's. Let me jut say, those three kids (two toddlers and one baby) are the cutest in three kids in the world. We had so much fun with them and of course, I brought my camera but I'm unable to post photos any of the cuties on my blog, same thing with my friends. :(
Anywho, it was a nice day and somehow the subject of caramel frappachinos from Starbucks came up at least four times so that would always lead us to moan and groan about how we wanted the delicious coffee milkshake :)
And also at the moment I'm in love with etsy. Isn't it just the best website ever?? All of these lovely handmade things from all around the world right in front of you! I have a gadget on my sidebar for my own etsy shop, *wink wink* though, its not very impressive. I'm trying to improve it though! :)

Mountain pics and cousins :)

I really should be posting these on my photo blog but its so much easier to post them here!

I was in the car when I took these. I love the last one because you can see the sun rays shining through the clouds like the angels are trying to let you see a smidge of heaven.

I've always thought the farm above was beautiful. When we were driving past I finally managed to snag a photo.

My two awesome cousins are over. They are 9 and 6. Kate loves to play with them and for the past few weeks they've been taking a dance class together. They do musical theater, jazz, tap and ballet. They are currently working on the song "It's a Hard Knock Life" from Annie. One of my favorite songs ever! They are practicing in the basement but since they are really belting out the song you can hear it through the heating vent.

They all have great voices!

They asked me to come down and watch them one time and honestly, it was great! =)
