quick rambles

As you guys may notice, a slight change has occurred involving the appearance of the little blog. Not a huge one, because I really enjoyed the colors and fonts of the previous design. But not only has "beautiful" undergone a change, Simply You Designs has experienced a full switcheroo!

I'm so satisfied and happy with my brand now. Because it really is a brand. The sites coordinate nicely (I think) and now I feel "beautiful" is official. Also, it's a nice way to welcome the new month. (School is almost upon us, I start in three weeks!)

guess what?

I made another blog. Yep. I finally did it! And, as you may have already guessed, it is completely dedicated to fashion and makeup (99.99% drugstore makeup!!).

I already have a couple posts up and plan on getting some more up soon, so go on over and check it out :)

And don't worry, I'll still be posting makeup stuff on here, just less often! So here come the photography posts. Oh yeah, get excited ;)

I made a header for my mom's blog!

And I tried several different designs before I got it right! Here is the old one:

 I made the tree from a picture of an apple tree in our yard. Any way, the second one:

Since my mom's blog title is "Being Home", she wanted a house in the design. That's a silhouette of our house. When I showed her the design above she loved it, but wanted the tree and running children, so:

Bonjour readers! Thanks so much for all of your "get well" notes! I really appreciate them :)
Well, I have spent two hours this morning trying to figure out how to make a blog background and I (of course) failed again :) so when I got tired of being confused and frustrated I decided to go into Photoshop and mess around with some scrapbooking kits!

The page above used to be a very light pink with darker pink polka dots! I wish I could show you it in its original colors but I didn't make a copy *frowns*.

These are part of the same kit as the first. I tried hard to get them to match :)

This used to be a nice blue-ish color and, honestly, I liked it better the first way :)

 I saved the best one for last! Don't you love it?! It used to be pink/orang/yellow, but I like it much better this way!

How do you like my header?

It took me a few times to get it right but I really like the finished product :) I did it in Photoshop! I love purple and I'm in a sort of fancy mood so I love the text and at the moment I adore butterflies so I found some way to squeeze them in too.

Mountain pics and cousins :)

I really should be posting these on my photo blog but its so much easier to post them here!

I was in the car when I took these. I love the last one because you can see the sun rays shining through the clouds like the angels are trying to let you see a smidge of heaven.

I've always thought the farm above was beautiful. When we were driving past I finally managed to snag a photo.

Should I delete my photo blog?

My two awesome cousins are over. They are 9 and 6. Kate loves to play with them and for the past few weeks they've been taking a dance class together. They do musical theater, jazz, tap and ballet. They are currently working on the song "It's a Hard Knock Life" from Annie. One of my favorite songs ever! They are practicing in the basement but since they are really belting out the song you can hear it through the heating vent.

They all have great voices!

They asked me to come down and watch them one time and honestly, it was great! =)

Also, this is something I'm looking forward to when I get my blog makeover:

I'm Going On a Trip.......

The first week in August! Just me, going to my great aunt's house. By myself. I can't wait!! Unfortunately I will not be able to blog while I'm there but I will have tons to tell you when I get back! Also in August I'm getting and official blog makeover! YAY! The girl who is doing it does them for free, which is flippin' awesome! :D Click here to check here blog out! To be honest I didn't get a whole lot of photos with my camera because my uncle and aunt came with their daughters and my uncle let me play around with his camera, which is a Canon 30D i think........

He said he would put the pics that I took onto a disc and give it to me. I will post the pics as soon as I have them. And I'm thinking about deleting my photo blog and just posting my photos on this one, so what do you think of that? :) 

Also, I desperately need a blog makeover, background, header, fonts and all. 

So with all these changes I figure just smush both blogs together :)

I guess I'm just dreaming, because at the moment I can't spend $60 dollars on a blog makeover. Oh well, maybe I'll win one in a giveaway or something =))

Tips and titles =)

Yes, I am making a whole lot of changes to my blog, so I need your advice. First, could you tell me how to change the font to something other than the 6 fonts blogger has to offer? Second, I am considering changing the title. Right now i have a little obsession with butterflies, so my I have only one title in mind: Butterfly Soul.
Yes, very random and I am open to suggestions so if ya'll have any ideas comment!! Here are some words that I would love to have in my title:
Violet (optional)
Butterfly
dream
imagine

and a lot of other things that I can't think of at the moment. If you have any ideas at all let me know!

I'm Back, and yes, I was away ;)

My family went on vacation for he weekend. We went to my mom's aunts house and it was sssoooooo fun!!!!!! We hung out with our cousins and had a cookout. It was the best!!!!! How do you guys like my new blog design? I really like it but it seems too, um.................. quiet. I'm probably going to change it yet again. I do like experimenting with different looks! Do you guys have any suggestions? Let me know! :)

Just to let you know,

I didn't give up yet, just for today! :) Tomorrow you will see that plain old Minima template as i try to work my way around the HTML and the reason why it worked for my test blog and its not working for this blog!

Ummmm......not sure what to make of this.....

So I was successful in turning my test blog into a three column blog template and then I tried to do it to this blog and...........not too successful....:( I'll keep trying though! I will try not to torture you much longer by having you look at a plain white blog page! ;)

I know what your thinking, "Can't she keep her blog the same for one week?" well, this is a major change! Ok guys, desperate blogger here!

This morning I installed Photoshop on my moms computer. Ya know how I've been saying I want to get directions on how to change a two column template into a three column template? Well once I know my way around Photoshop i think I'll be able to make my own backgrounds for my blog. So again, if you or anyone you know have anything that could help me in this process, it would be a  HUGE help!
So if you have a three column blog and have the time, please please please email me the directions! :) in the meantime I'll be searching for not-so-difficult ways to change it. Hopefully I'll have a real three column template in a week or so! :D
