Goodbye summer....

How nice you were, with your hot sun and watermelon. Your dirty bare feet and ice water with chunks of lemon.
You are gone now, but never forgotten.
Remembered with joy, but not missed.
Because I have something to look forward to everyday now. Something that's just as sweet as summer's own watermelon...

summer nights

Fireflies begin to shine,

as the pale sherbet sky fades to navy blue.

Laughter is heard from backyards, as little toddler's fingers,

reach for the glittering bugs.

Bare feet are running through the cool, green grass.

Hard breathing,

Harder sprinting.

Tennis balls are hurled,

Diving and twisting to dodge them.

Ice clinks against sweaty glasses,

and cold water is gratefully consumed.

Summer nights,

I missed you.

bucket list || june

June. Just the name of this magical month gives you pleasant thoughts of watermelon, wiffleball games and summer. During June I want to have several "goals" I want to meet. Here they are:

take at least five photos a day // eat watermelon like nobody's business // cartwheel across the yard in the morning dew // dance under the street lights // play rundown too much // try a new baking recipe ever week // sketch a portrait every day // go on more photo shoots // push myself out of my comfort zone when I'm graphic designing // journal every night // make someone a gift for no reason // laugh a lot

As I complete these, I'll update you guys on what I've done and what I have left. What's on your bucket list for June?

scenes from the mountains

I haven't been on blogger much these past few days, and the next week or two will be extremely busy, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around. I'll try to schedule some posts though :)
Anyway, I've thrown together a post with pictures that I took the last time we went up to our mountain house. Enjoy!

Love this photo, the flower was gorgeous. A bunch of different things were in bloom when we went up there last...

and all the berries, fruit and other edible deliciousness has started to come out!

okay, I have no idea whatsoever what that bug thing is in that photo ^^^ but it looks scary. If anyone can  identify it that'd be awesome :)

A whole bunch of raptors were flying above the house throughout the day.

We were so glad that the weather was decent–not too hot, not too cold–and it didn't rain. Around noon some relatives came up and we had a blast taking them gown to the brook, walking in the woods, and just generally enjoying nature ;)

I love summer ;)

the freedom of heat

summer.

Just saying the word makes me think of sidewalk chalk, sunscreen and wiffle-ball games in the backyard.

But summer also means freedom. Freedom to do whatever you want. No more worrying about math tests and science lessons, all you have to worry about during summer is staying cool and having fun. But, I've got to admit, I am going to keep up with math ;)

Yep, its still summer!

Fall is officially not here yet. The temperature is still 80 degrees or higher here and about 95% of the trees here are bright green!
I want fall! I want cool weather and red-gold leaves that crunch under my feet. I want old sweatshirts and jeans and hot chocolate! I want to have to sleep with my comforter at night instead of just my sheet.
I want to be able to walk outside and get chilly instead of staying inside because its blazing hot.
I want fall!

I'm Going On a Trip.......

The first week in August! Just me, going to my great aunt's house. By myself. I can't wait!! Unfortunately I will not be able to blog while I'm there but I will have tons to tell you when I get back! Also in August I'm getting and official blog makeover! YAY! The girl who is doing it does them for free, which is flippin' awesome! :D Click here to check here blog out! A whole lot of stuff........

Hey guys! I'm back from our cabin (obviously) and I still need to edit the pics so they're coming soon!
I am setting up an etsy account! For those of you who don't know what etsy is I'll tell you:
It's a website where you can buy and sell handmade and vintage stuff.
I really like it but if it doesn't work out I'll just sell my handmade stuff on here :)
I am having a followers fest!! My goal is to have 50 followers by the end of the summer. Sound like a lot? Well you guys can help! Whoever gains me the most followers will win a special prize! And if/when I get 50 followers i will have a giveaway to celebrate!!
And I am currently trying to figure out how to make a blog button in Photoshop. I know how to actually make the button but I don't know how to get a link into the button. If you guys have any tips or advice PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment!!!!!!!

Followers

I have a followers goal: My goal is to have gained at least ten followers by August 31 (the end of summer).
Lol just thought I'd say that! :D

Only three days a week?!?!

My mom is limiting me to blogging three days a week for the summer. AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully i'll be able to slide one or two more days into that week ;D
So blogger friends, what have you been up to? Enjoying your summer? Off school yet? LOL so far it has been a pretty rainy summer :P but I'll look on the bright side...............................*taps chin*........................sorry, I got nuthin :D there isn't much of a bright side if rain clouds are covering the sun!

Summer to-do list

It is officially SUMMER!!!!!!! I can't believe it! School is over and it's time to kick back, relax and enjoy the heat, humidity and bug bites! lol thats not a very good way to describe summer is it? Well here's my summer to-do list:

1. Hold a giveaway on my blog
2. Get in touch with five blogger friends
3. Hold a lemonade stand with my friends
4. Run a 5k race in July
6. Ride my bike 6-7 times a week
7. Get better at rollerblading
8. Play street hockey on rollerblades
9. Play run-down as much as I can
10. Read a Bible verse every morning
11. Be able to ride the four wheeler down to the creek at our mountain house
12. Grill hotdogs at least twice
13. blog, blog and blog some more!

I think most of my readers will be happy with that last one! Have you made out your summer to-do list yet?
