I've been craving to go on a bohemian photo shoot-actually, just a photo shoot in general. I want to go out into a field of flowers with a camera strap around my neck and a model ready to be photographed and just snap away.

With summer approaching, I'm hoping to photograph some new people and span out in my photography "business". What are your plans for summer?

a whole bunch of random

I've been a pretty downright horrible blogger guys. Just really really bad. But anywho, there is a reason, not a good reason, but still a reason:

I have been a busy busy bee and haven't had time to take/edit/post photos or anything else.
Also, apparently the fami;y's computer isn't working right so I couldn't edit photos even if I wanted to :'(

scenes from the mountains

I haven't been on blogger much these past few days, and the next week or two will be extremely busy, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around. I'll try to schedule some posts though :)
Anyway, I've thrown together a post with pictures that I took the last time we went up to our mountain house. Enjoy!

Love this photo, the flower was gorgeous. A bunch of different things were in bloom when we went up there last...

and all the berries, fruit and other edible deliciousness has started to come out!

okay, I have no idea whatsoever what that bug thing is in that photo ^^^ but it looks scary. If anyone can  identify it that'd be awesome :)

A whole bunch of raptors were flying above the house throughout the day.

We were so glad that the weather was decent–not too hot, not too cold–and it didn't rain. Around noon some relatives came up and we had a blast taking them gown to the brook, walking in the woods, and just generally enjoying nature ;)

I love summer ;)

the past few days

The past few days have consisted of...

1. making frappuccinos. The actual Starbucks recipe! Um, can you say total money saver?

2. hanging out with friends. Seriously, I love my friends, they're just too awesome...

3. obsessing over bohemian stuff
I've truly been obsessing. You can ask anyone. I've even veered my jewelry making activities to go in a more bohemian direction. I'll post photos of a necklace I made soon! By the way, I think this might be the third post in a row I've said something about bohemian awesomeness.....

miscellaneous ramblings

1. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book One: The Lightning Thief

Wow. I mean, WOW. Sure, I've been hearing about the Percy Jackson books for a while now. I knew they were pretty big and all but I just never got around to reading them. Yesterday I started the first book and I LOVE IT!! I lied in bed this morning for seriously three hours just reading. I can't even find a word perfect enough to describe it :)

2. Spring Fever

I. need. spring. so. badly. Right now it's so ugly and dreary outside I want to climb the stairs to heaven and have a serious talk with the big man about the weather around here ;)

3. Seeing your neighbor walking her dog

Why do I like this? Because if you knew the neighbor you'd want to go up to her and wait for her to make you laugh. Seriously whenever I'm around her she cracks me up! (you know who you are ;])

4. Clay

Does anyone else just love clay? Especially when you have some awesome ideas in mind? My sister and I have been working our fingers to the bone squishing and forming clay the past few days. In my next post I'll show you what we've been making :]

5. Stories Swimming

I have the best idea for a novel but I just can't put it into action! I mean, I guess I could, but whenever I want to write down a story my mind sorta shuts down and prefers to keep the story to itself. :P

Random Ramblings

AAAACK! I can't believe it! I've let my blog sit for five whole days without anything new on it! 5 DAYS!!!!! Wow, sorry 'bout that guys :)

Anyway, here's an update on stuff goin on 'round here:

1. Drawing
I have been a drawing maniac. I have all these ideas for pictures and I've been sketching them, water-coloring them, anything. Hopefully some of them will become characters because I have a few story ideas circling my head. I'll post a few in the next few days :)

2. The mountains
Aaah...... I love the mountains. Something about the cold winter air there is completely different from the air anywhere else. And...............

My dad and hi friend got the tractor working!!! They hooked up the trailer to it and we went around collecting firewood :)

4. Straitened Hair

My awesome friend gave Kate and I her old hair straitener because she has another one. I don't use it very often but it's a nice change every once in a while. My hair ordinarily is really really curly.

7. Eyeshadow
Who else loves the smooth glitter-y colors of eyeshadow?

Unfortunately I can not wear any because I have a chalazion on my right eyelid. It is not fun. It's getting better though. And it's not as noticeable as it used to be.

8. Cinnamon Muffins
Luke made these amazing muffins. They are so light literally melt in your mouth. No lie.

I guess I'm sort of obsessed with cinnamon at the moment :)

9. Blog Design
Aaahh, blog design. I love doing it, but I love the current one. It doesn't feel quite Christmas-y enough though, does it? I would love your opinion :)

Miscellany Monday

I'm so sorry for leaving you guys in the dark for three whole days! Our computer was out of order for a few days due to my mom tipping over a water glass and some of it spilling on it :/ She said herself she was glad it was her and not one of us :)

Anyway, on to my first miscellany Monday!

{1.} New shoes.

Aren't they cute? The problem is that they squeeze my big toes a bit. (My mom picked them up at our local thrift store-they were brand new!)

{2.} Homemade perfume.

Yuck. Cinnamon in perfume doesn't work too well. (That was not my idea, it was Kate's!)

{3.} Fresh broccoli.

I love love LOVE broccoli but wasn't too enthusiastic about eating it home-grown after I almost ate a fried caterpillar. Too much information? :)

{4.} Sport pillowcases.

I don't know why but I really like them. :)

{5.} Apple cider.

Over the past three days this has become my favorite drink. My mouth waters when I think of it. Its just so refreshing! Comment if you agree :)

FYI, peanut butter is EVIL!!

So here is a little story about me when I was baking peanut butter kiss cookies today:

I decided to do this recipe because it only had three ingredients: Sugar, eggs and peanut butter.
I made a much more difficult recipe earlier (okay, it wasn't too hard but harder than these peanut butter cookies!) and so I thought it would be nice to make another quick, easy batch of cookies (I say another because I made chocolate cookies before. Both recipes are coming soon!).
So I got out the ingredients and all of the measuring and mixing equipment and went to work. I managed to get through the sugar and the egg without any problems, but then came the dreaded peanut butter. Now, I don't really like peanut butter but I adore peanut butter cookies. So anyway, I filled up the measuring cup about half way and realized I had to open another jar of the evil brown stuff. So I got the jar and I was stirring the peanut butter around when I took the spoon out too fast and the jar tipped over and splattered peanut butter all over the left side of my body from the waist down.

Total. Grossness.

For some reason the peanut butter that we buy is a lot more liquid-y than others and so it was running down my leg and into my sock.
No,  did not get a picture.
No you did not want to see it.

So I changed clothes and finished the cookies. I didn't put a full cup of the you-know-what in them though. I had had enough of it.

Messing around in Photoshop :)

Bonjour readers! Thanks so much for all of your "get well" notes! I really appreciate them :)
Well, I have spent two hours this morning trying to figure out how to make a blog background and I (of course) failed again :) so when I got tired of being confused and frustrated I decided to go into Photoshop and mess around with some scrapbooking kits!

The page above used to be a very light pink with darker pink polka dots! I wish I could show you it in its original colors but I didn't make a copy *frowns*.

These are part of the same kit as the first. I tried hard to get them to match :)

This used to be a nice blue-ish color and, honestly, I liked it better the first way :)

 I saved the best one for last! Don't you love it?! It used to be pink/orang/yellow, but I like it much better this way!
