baseball season, senior season

greeting pals and gals! (a "Grease" quote. I could probably recite that movie word for word.) Last week, my cousin and I went to a Pirate game after her senior portrait session (those photos coming soon!). Let me tell you, I have sincerely missed baseball season. Even though I brought my camera, I couldn't really get too many photos because 1. my telephoto lens' aperture only opens to 4.5 and the lighting was cruddy and 2. there was a large man sitting in front of me. Anywho, here's the only decent photo that came out of that night.
Jose Tabata taking a cut. I believe he struck-out this at-bat.

Even though the bucs lost, it was a great day and I was so glad to take my cousins senior photos and spend the day with her. We got in some much-needed cousin-ly bonding time.

Do you guys have a favorite sport to watch?

hannah

marky boy // basketball

Sport is where an entire life can be compressed
into a few hours, where the emotions of a lifetime
can be felt on an acre or two of ground,
where a person can suffer and die and rise again on six miles of trails
through a New York City park.
Sport is a theater where sinner can turn saint
and a common man become an uncommon hero,
where the past and the future can fuse with the present.
Sport is singularly able
to give us peak experiences
where we feel completely one with the world
and transcend all conflicts as we finally become our own potential.
-George A. Sheehan

I've honestly never met another 10-year old boy who can throw, dribble, or hit a ball as well as this boy can. I know I sound like an insufferable, boasting older sister, but it's true. Mark is a Jack-of-all trades, he's good at everything he tries. Basketball, football, tennis, baseball, ultimate, hockey, you name it and he's done it with success.
I'm dreading the day when he outruns me, I'll never live it down ;)

life as of late No. 4

001. Spring is hiding.
it's really frustrating me. It's the middle of March, and still everything is dead. No blooms or blossoms, not a thing. WHERE IS SPRING? Ahem. If any of you could mail me some spring, it would make me deliriously happy. I loved Kenzie's post today, I could practically smell those bright pink flowers. Drop by and see for yourself how spring has been generous to her :)

002. I am a highschool basketball fanatic.
the highschool basketball season has almost come to a close, I thought it was only appropriate to mention my obsession extreme support for my team. It's not just me, though. Almost the entire school is keeping up with the games and scores. The semifinals of states are in a few days, and I am SO pumped.   So. Pumped. LET'S GOOOOOO!!!! Okay. I'm good.

003. hannah therese
Alright, I might as well get too it: "beautiful" is now "hannah therese". Why? Because "beautiful" is too cliche, and not memorable. And "hannah therese" is the title that defines me best because, well, it's my name. I also cleaned up the design a bit. Okay, a lot. The previous one was too cluttered, and I like the simple, clean lines in this one. I moved the followers gadget to the bottom and condensed the sidebar considerably. I'm still tweaking little things, but it's pretty much done. And I updated the about me page, so feel free to stop by there :)
All in all, it feels nice and fresh for spring. (whenever spring decides to mosy its way around here...)
Thoughts on the new look?

hannah

hello, spring.

I. love. spring. with. a. fierce. burning. passion.

An  update on my life:
Lots of testing in school (blech) and lots of basketball playing with my Mark. Seriously, this kid is good. Or maybe I just stink. Probably a little bit o' both ;) I've played "around the world" with him at least ten times in the last three days and I haven't won once.
Yeah, that's kinda embarrassing but it's still fun, and in my defense, I don't shoot too horribly, he just shoots extremely well...

Have you gotten warm weather yet? Which photo is your favorite?

p.s. I just did a makeup tutorial for green eyes (Happy belated St. Patty's Day!) on my beauty blog, and don't forget to link up to Sunday Spark!

a quick post with two photos and two random subjects ;)

okay, what is up with this new blogger dashboard? I mean, what was wrong with the old one? Nothing. *sigh* change is good when you want it, not good when you don't. :P

Aannd Luke's other baseball team won the league championship!
right before his last pitch, which by the way, he won the game with a strike-out :D

p.s. sorry for the slightly boring posts, I have't gotten a chance to go out and take some photos for a while, I've been so busy. I promise a few nice, long picture posts when this hectic week is over :)

baseball

Baseball is slowing down for the season, now it's time for all the tournaments to kick in. Mark's playing his championship game tonight against one of his good friends. Wish them luck!

Also, regarding the design, I'm thinking I should go with a plain white background instead of this pink one, and maybe a photo header but still stick with same basic colors. Thoughts?

did i forget to mention...

that Luke's baseball team won the championship?

and he got the mvp. Yep, my little bro rocks :)

(sorry the photos are so pixelated, it's really hard to shoot in manual at night :P)

by the way, literally two minutes ago (no, seriously, my mom just called) Luke hit his first homerun. Over the fence. And I wasn't there to witness it. I. am. so. dissapointed. Congratulate Luke on his first homerun! *sob*

spreading the love

So, yesterday we went to my brother Luke's baseball game...

My little bro stole home! WHOOP WHOOP!
We watched for a little, but my sister and I brought the double dutch ropes and we were basically begging Mark to do double dutch with us. When we realized wasn't going to give in, we went up to the park to try to find a promising person to do it with us.
We wandered around, probably looking like creepers, and were about to go back to the game when Mark showed up, and we started to jump.
Instantly about 20 people were around us, and we were encouraging them to try and jump in.

It was so much fun! And some of the people were naturals :)

Have you ever done double dutch?

Soccer Photos

It was senior day and so all the seniors had to have their pictures taken about a billion times ;)
None of these have my watermark on them so no stealing :)
